Queen ID

I've caught a big black ant on pavement near coffee shop 3 days ago. I researched out what it is and almost concluded it is a black carpenter ant. I am pretty sure it is a queen, but I would like to make sure from the experience ants keepers here that my conclusion is correct.

Ant size : little bit less than 1 inch but larger than 3/4 inch.

Anyway I tried may different ways but every attempt failed. Even worse, after few tries, my editing capability was restricted. I don't know what to make of it.

This should have gone in the ID section. Camponotus pennsylvanicus.

The image brackets only work when you link to the image URL -- in your case, you were linking to Google's display page of the image. I agree that the restriction on editing posts is a very unique spam countermeasure found only on this forum.

Thanks for the quick response and identification of scientific name.
This was my first post and I've seen many queen ID in the post. That's why I started here.
Soon I realized there is a forum solely dedicated to the ID.
