What Species Is This "Queen"?

I went on a trip to Yosemite National Park in California and found a really big queen(at least what I thought)under a rock. It was in the middle of a tiny grassy field. I found it on Saturday, April 15th, and it has layed eggs since then while occupying my test tube. I'll try to get a good picture ASAP but I'll need to borrow a friend's camera. Until then it is 7mm long. It has a black abdomen, a dark black almost velvety thorax, and a pitch black head. again, I'll try to get the pictures soon.

Could be a camponotus, but would need pictures to be sure.

Mreyeba11, you've accidentally broken the law. I recommend releasing her.

I forgot to note that it was at a random gas station which I was at before I paid to enter the park. My bad.

Ah. In that case, post pictures and measurements to either the nearest 1/16th of an inch or (preferably) millimeters. :)

Not a Queen, but that's a Camponotus Major.
