Hi there

well as you might guess im new to the ant world, i dont own any ants as it stands but im in the Barrow-in-furness area which is in Cumbria and looking to buy a queen im an impatient one so finding one fill get me stressed ahahah,

I want to start keeping ants because AntsCanada got me started from bindge watching the youtube videos. excellent videos!!

Im currently 3dprinting some stuff for keeping ants in for when i get a queen along with sorting out a tank. just need to get some tubing and test tubes etc...

So i guess if there is any Qeen ants for sale near me or more Advanced colonys let me know thanks.

I do keep reptiles and other pets which i will list below

1x Green Iguana
1x Bearded dragon
3x Cornsnakes
2x giant African land snails (Retics)
2x Gerbils
2x cats
600+ Cockroaches
100+ Locusts

That's an impressive list of creatures you take care of. There certainly are a number of options available to you to get a queen or fledgeling colony. Check for any GAN farmers near you on the AC website for that. There is also https://antsuk.com/ and probably some other webstores available to you. I know one of the members of the Camponotus Crew lives in the UK and bought one of his colonies (Camponotus turkestanus) through a store there, but I am not sure which one.

you can pic them up from sites like gearbest for about 149 dollars up to what ever you want to spend
1x Lasius Niger - early forging stage - 60-100 workers
1x Messor Barbarus - founding stage - <20 workers
1x Camponotus Turkestanus - claustral stage - 1 nanitic + brood
1x Odontoponera Transversa - semi-claustral stage - no eggs

Yeah you can buy them online, takes a while to learn how to use them and set them up but there well worth the investment, mine cost me £600 i can print anythink within 315mmx315mmx315mm which is a decent size but the bigger the print the longer it takes

Good news My Formica Fusca Ants arrived 20mins ago, along with my 8 chamber nest, how long should i wait till i can let them go into it?
