Which ant species has Majors and Super Majors?
I am just curious which species of ants have Majors and Super Majors.
Re: Which ant species has Majors and Super Majors?
Many many species are polymorphic (have minors, majors and supermajors) some examples are carpenter ants and fire ants.
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony

Fire ants i couldn't risk because there will be a young child in the house in a year I was looking into Camponotus vicinus (Bicolored Carpenter Ant) just not sure what kind of Formicarium would be good for them IE) what materials its made from would be best like wood vs 3d printed, and size as well. like would this work well for carpenter ants? https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0081/8928/0333/products/IMG_20200617_094146_1024x1024@2x.jpg?v=1598104943

Carpenter ants do good in wood nests and 3D printed nests. It should be a large nest with large tunnels that the queen can pas thru. That nest should be good.

If it is a hard wood it will be fine.

I would suggest an AntsCanada Omni nest or something like that.

Re: Which ant species has Majors and Super Majors?
Yeah i'd buy AntsCanada again but i am not willing to pay almost 120 CAD for only 8"x8" a formicarium then have to pay import fees on top of it, hence why i am only buying products within Canada and Europe because European products aren't charged import fees in my experience with getting PC parts shipped from the EU. Maybe when Mikey decides to actually open up shop in Canada then i'll buy again but till then it is a big no-go for me.

I think that you should choose a 3D printed formicarium because IF the carpenter ants need moisture then the wood could rot and THEN it would be really easy for them to chew their way out.
