ANTS KILLED ANT QUEEN
Hello,
Please help, i found out that my ants probably killed ant queen because i saw her without head and leg. Im asking because i have 2 same ant queens, and if it possible that i can conect workers from dead queen to new queen with 1 worker. This queen which died had 7 workers and 5 eggs, soo can i conect them??? Will they accept new queen???

Re: ANTS KILLED ANT QUEEN
They will probably not accept the queen, you should not do it.
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony
[Have a look at antmaps.org]

If your colony is that small they should still be in a test tube setup from my understanding the Tank could be causing them stress. Unless the tank is filled with soil/sand/whatever your ant species likes to nest in naturally and they are forming their nest in the soil.GardenAnts wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 12:22 pmSmall tank connected to the tube.Jager89 wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 12:19 pmOutside? what kind of set up are you using?GardenAnts wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 12:16 pmWell thats the problem i didnt see them killed queen, just when i looked i saw her dead with no head, leg, and they moved it outside.

I have them in like 4 months and this year she started to produce a lot of eggs, and i was so happy . Im not sure if they were stressed /and if she was killed by workers, they hatched last week.Jager89 wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 12:30 pmIf your colony is that small they should still be in a test tube setup from my understanding the Tank could be causing them stress. If your other queens are in open set ups like that as well i would keep them in a test tube set up until they have way more workers.GardenAnts wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 12:33 pmI have them in like 4 months and this year she started to produce a lot of eggs, and i was so happy . When i put it in this set up queen had 9 ant workers and they are big, i have big specie, and i read that when u have about 10 worker ants (if big) u can put them in set up like this.Jager89 wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 12:43 pmIf your other queens are in open set ups like that as well i would keep them in a test tube set up until they have way more workers.GardenAnts wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 12:33 pmI have them in like 4 months and this year she started to produce a lot of eggs, and i was so happy .
