Re: Ant queen identification
The tip of the cotton will look dry but she can still drink from it.

Re: Ant queen identification
Ik I've already set her up but would it be a gud idea to maybe feed her some honey/sugar water.
Re: Ant queen identification
That depends on if it is fully claustral or only semi. If she is fully claustral you don't need to feed her.NoobAntKeeper wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 9:30 pmIk I've already set her up but would it be a gud idea to maybe feed her some honey/sugar water.
Re: Ant queen identification
Just to be safe you can give her a very small amount.

Re: Ant queen identification
Final question there are 2 types of queens that seem very common around here one I don't keep bcuz its semi claustral the other is solonopsis Invicta I know they grow fast which is great but I heard they're hard to keep after a certain point would it be safe for a "noobantkeeper" like me to keep a solonopsis colony.
Re: Ant queen identification
I would say no, fire ants are very hard to keep, in a few years when you know what you are doing you could keep them if you want.
