My ant queen finally layer its first batch of eggs. Remember the lasius queen i told you about? Well after about 3 weeks, she finally decides to lay eggs. Good thing to cause i wus literally about to give up on her. I’m happy though that she finally layer eggs.

Same thing happened to mine! Didn’t lay for atleast a month after I caught her. Then in the prime of winter, decides to lay eggs lmao! Small brood but she is an attentive queen to them. Did yours lay many?

Not too much. I think like 3-4 eggs. One or two have already hatched into larvae. She’ll probably lay more. And mine was very attentive as well. Barely moved anywhere since the eggs came in. Just sat there cleaning/feeding them.

Mine is the same it’s hard to tell but looks like she only has two or three. I had another lay aswell looks like it only has one right now and sometimes she carries the egg in her jaw and scares me because I cannot see the egg and think that she has eaten it. Does she lay many more eggs since they’ve become larvae?

Like 1 new egg as well, i think. I think yours probably will survive as the eggs is definitely a good thing. Just wait a few more days or just a day and more probably will come through. Mine have a bit of a handicap. One of her back legs had its tip bitten off and yet she survived. It just shows how resilient the queens sometimes can be. What species is your ant?

Definitely they can be very strong. My species is Iridomyrmex bicknelli they are an Australian Species quite small the queens are about 6mm or so. Which species of Lasius is your queen?

My queen is an lasius neoniger. She’s a sort of small as well. I would say 15 mm? Anyhow, quite small for ants in my area.
