NEW ENGLAND (ME-VT-NH-CT-MA-RI) Nuptial Flights
Hi, I live in Maine, and despite all the resources out there, finding resources for New England is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I would love for anyone to share anything the get or know here in this section, as it wont just help me, it will help all of us in this area a lot!

I agree, and would greatly appreciate any assistance. I live in RI and it is tough to find this information.

Re: NEW ENGLAND (ME-VT-NH-CT-MA-RI) Nuptial Flights
I have found these very, very small ant queens, one kind with the gaster tergites being a little squished, presumably from when I was digging for a beetle and I found her, then the other queen is in good condition and she was found just by a burnt log. For 2 years, my friend and i have been trying to identify the larger one, closest thing we have found is a Lasius Umbratus, but still not yet id'd. I will also be forwarding this to the ID'ing section, so don't freak out, guys.

Re: NEW ENGLAND (ME-VT-NH-CT-MA-RI) Nuptial Flights
I have been trying to search for any information on ants in the new England area and there is very little if any at all. Just this small info is a big help. Good luck Anting out there and hopefully I can find a queen this year.
Re: NEW ENGLAND (ME-VT-NH-CT-MA-RI) Nuptial Flights
I think they are flying here in Bristol County, MA
my girlfriend just caught a queen around 6pm today, May 28, 2020!
this is our first time trying to start a colony and we are very excited!
We have her in her test tube setup now
i think i have added an attachment with a picture to see if anyone can help us know if this is really a queen
