heating farm with a heat mat

Hi everyone. I have a heat mat which I would like to use to heat part of my delux tower ant farm I purchased from AntsCanada. Because it is plastic Im not sure how to situate the pad so I don't damage the farm or cook the ants. I thought about using something to rest the pad under but Im not sure about what, or how to place the pad. Any help would be most appreciated.

Hello, it is 8w 6x8 inch pad and it is the large tower. The ants are currently in a test tube set up connected to the farm . They’ve been in there a year this summer but I read this can happen with carpenter ants. I’ve a queen 8 workers and lots of eggs and larvae. They do eat good and seem to be doing well but I think the heat may help as it is still snowing here in Nova Scotia. Thinking if I connect it to the farm somehow they will still benefit from the warmth in the tube but not be too affected by condensation or too much heat.

What is the heat wattage, like 15 watt or 50 watt?

It is 8 watt. 120 volts. Just a little one specifically for reptiles and small pets
