For some reason all the ant queens i catch always die

Oh no... Well, queen ants only have, like, 15% chance of making it past the founding stage in the wild.
So I wouldn't lose hope yet if I were you.
I'm sure you know this, but just make sure that your queen is somewhere that is quiet and dark, try to leave her peace, but make sure she has enough water.
Sometimes it helps if you keep them low 20's Celsius.

Before I forget you might find our Camponotus Crew thread interesting if you'd like to exchange experiences with other ant keepers.

As for your queens dying, this can depend on several factors. Can you tell us how you've housed them, fed them, how many times you checked on them etc.? And did you use tapwater by chance to fill your test tube?

Ideally you want to keep a Camponotus queen at slightly higher than room temperature, so 25 degrees Celsius. Lower temperatures cause her eggs/larvae/pupae to develop slower.
