Crazy Situation

I live in Ohio where the ants do hibernate, and usually they would be right now. It’s been hot recently and I noticed that a small colony of Tetramorium was up and about from under the air conditioner in my Spanish class. I would love to catch the colony, but it’s under the AC where nothing could reach. Is there a way I could attract them to enter a test tube setup?

very unlikely that they will move into your test tube set up but you can try. The easiest way to get a colony would be during nuptial flights.
