Hi guys I was wondering what ant barriers work best, I know fluon and Vaseline are 2 alternatives. With regards to using Vaseline how often must I reapply it?

That's an interesting question. I am actually wondering that myself.

That depends on how often your ants try to escape. Every time they do, they take a little bit of the barrier with them...

I have carpenter ants and when I used Vasaline as their barrier they ascaped (it was only one ant so I put it back in) but when I used baby powder they didn't ascape anymore.

How did you make your barrier? Like, which ingredients and how much of them?

Options in order from least effective to most effective:

4.Vasaline-
3.Baby powder and alcohol mix applied with paintbrush
2.Dry baby powder applied with dry cotton ball
1.Fluon/Teflon/insectaslip

No. 2 is my favorite.
Proverbs 6:6-8

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
