Sorry, been busy with university too.
I'm not used to Australian species at all, but in order to get an almost certain ID I'd wait for some workers to hatch. It would be much easier that way, even though it does look like Brachyponera sp.

About all those queens, be careful not to get overwhelmed once they start producing workers fast... just a personal advice
Keeping the following colonies:
  • [2x] Camponotus Barbaricus
  • [2x] Lasius Flavus

All good, Just got into the Ant Keeping hobby a few months ago. Mymecia Sp. are my personal favourite, very inquisitive. Luckily all the queens I have I've found at my workplace or home. And I'm being careful not to get overwhelmed by the various colonies I have. Thanks for confirming the Species.

Keeping the following Colonies:
  • Myrmecia Chrysogaster
  • Iridomyrmex Bicknelli
  • Rhytidoponera Metallica

  • Other Sp. Etc

I've done some more research, could this be a queen Brachyponera Lutea?

sorry mate i was going to post back but got busy, yeah i also think she's a Brachyponera sp. but couldn't find an exact match

also just saw your list of colonies, wow i'm so jelly 2 of my fav sub families, Ponerinae and Myrmicinae
Hey guys,

Wouldn't the brachyponera croceicornis be a better match? I assume there might be slight colour deviations, possibly affected by the available food.

Hi, thanks for the recommendation Hawkeye, still working out what species she is however, I might just wait for the first set of workers for an easier identification.
