Hi I'm a new person planning to start antkeeping next spring at nuptial flight season in North America. I also just signed up for this forum and I hope I will do well here. I found Mikey's channel a few months ago and ever since I can't stop watching it. If you guys got any tips please do tell me. Well that's all I hope everybody has a good day.

Welcome to the forums! Like the ants, we tend to slow down a bit here as winter approaches :). Tip #1: You gotta be patient. New colonies take a long time to develop.

Tip 2) Absolutely do NOT check on ant queens you’ve caught every day or even once a week this stresses them out too much and I made that mistake once and I hope to never repeat it because she wouldn’t lay any eggs and she starved. If you absolutely have to check maybe do it in a relatively dark room with little to no vibrations every 3-4 weeks.
