Queen ant found in Northeast Florida
Hello! I need help identifying a queen ant I found the other day (August 3rd) in Northeast Florida...Jacksonville to be precise. It's much smaller than a Fire Ant queen (Solenopsis Invicta), maybe only 4mm long or so. It appears to be a dark, brownish red or brown....almost black I guess but not quite black. The grooves between the sections of the abdomen appear to be a yellowish color. I can try to answer any other questions that would help. Thanks!

Pictures would be helpful. Could she be a thief ant?

Sorry it took a while to respond. I'm not great with computer technology. It frustrates me and took a while to figure how to get you a pic. Here is the best one I have. There's a minim (my only one so far) in the back. I can try to get one a little more clear of it'll help. Thanks!

Awesome! I was thinking Lasius Niger but I'm pretty new at this. Thanks!
