I was just wondering if anyone has tried feeding their M. Barbarus colony avacado pit? afterall it is just a giant seed...

I don't think they would eat it. but maybe if you crushed it up.

awesome, will wait till they are larger and give it a go
currently they are very small (around 20 workers) but the queen has stopped laying since i moved her into her new nest shes currently in a founding sized ants australia nest with a 3w heat mat under about half of the nest. she also has the red cover on though ive mostly had a cover over that to keep her in the dark. Ive only been lifting the cover to hydrate the nest ever 3 days. shes been in there for about 2 weeks now and doesnt show any other sings of stress so im hoping she will start laying soon. feeding wise they have plenty of seeds and ive also given them hlaf a meal worm every 4 days or so which goes down well and just now put in a small grasshopper (wild caught but frozen and thawed)
any tips would be great as im pretty new to the hobby
