Queen ant?

Hi! We’ve been looking for a queen since the beginning of June, my daughter(6) found this at the pavement late afternoon yesterday (July 15). Could it be a queen? TIA

It could very well be! But it is impossible to tell without a picture :D Attaching a picture to your post doesn't work (even though the site still gives you the option...)

Get yourself a free imgur.com account, and upload your pictures on there. Once you've clicked on an uploaded picture, a list of links will appear on the right. Select the second from the top, and copy it.

Then when you are writing your new post, select the picture button (the one with the sun over the mountains) and paste the link. It should look like this [ img] link [ / img] but without the spaces in between the brackets. I had to add spaces as it wouldn't show otherwise...

Hope that helps

Looks like a queen to me, but I couldn't tell you the species.
