Hybrid Nest and Outworld

I’ve been wanting to start my colony with a basic setup of a Hybrid Nest and an AC Outworld, and realized that the Hybrid Nest comes with a few objects. I’m kind of confused of how all the portals and plugs connect and was wondering if it’s possible to set it up with a test tube in the Hybrid Nest and a tube to the Outworld while all other holes are plugged without buying any additional gear?

Yes it is. It comes with 3 plugs, so you'll actually have 1 spare.

Ehm that's not what you asked? You can connect tubes to all the portals in the nest.

All the portals should fit large and small tubes. If you look at the technical drawing, you'll see that the portals actually consist of a number of rings of decreasing size.
