I haven't seen any queens out in the wild yet, but I did just catch one the other day wandering around my bathroom so I think it's safe to say they are flying. I am in North Carolina so I don't know how far either direction their schedule would change for your location compared to where I am.

Hey - hop on the ant keeping Discord. We have been tracking nuptial flights there. Campos flew this past week or so.WashingtonAnts wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2019 3:26 pmHi everyone,
I live in Washington state, USA and I really want to keep the genus camponotus. Has anyone seen them flying yet? Also, what are the ideal conditions and places to look for newly mated queens?

Hey there! Did you guys manage to find some queens in the end? Now I am a complete newb when it comes to keeping ants, but isn't 15 Celsius still relatively cold? I mean room temperature is about 21 degrees...

The flights seem to be most likely for Campo at least if it hits 80. This next weekend (after the 4th) is looking promising.

Re: Camponotus flights yet??
Hi everyone! Completely new to the forum but I've been an AC fan for almost 4 years now
I've been looking to start my own colony, preferably a Camponotus pennsylvanicus. And was wondering if anyone had the flight schedule for PA or started around it for 2019 or if there had been any new queen sightings in July. Also any other tips for finding queens and beginning a colony would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Re: Camponotus flights yet??
As I live in the Netherlands, I can't tell you when to find your queen, but as I've received my first Camponotus ligniperda queens and did a fair amount of research into Camponotus ants, I might be able to help you there.
My queens are currently residing in their test tubes, but I plan to house them in a Camponotus Large Hybrid Nest 2.0 once they've grown and survived the hibernation period.
After that I want to release them into a paludarium I designed with a more natural environment.

I am working on an update to post, so not all the latest info is in there, but you'll get the gist of it...
