Holes

I have placed an ant colony into a formicarium, and at the sides, as usual, there are holes for acrylic tubing. To prevent the ants from escaping, I have cut wooden corks to fit the holes, but as the colony grows, I doubt that they will manage to keep the ants in. What should I use instead?

Cork is probably pretty good. If you use cotton they just constantly pull at it and gets cotton strands all over the inside of the nest. Play-dough I think is good for plugging holes you can get a tight fit and always remove it later.
Keeping:
Tetramorium immigrans * Lasius Neoniger * Lasius Claviger * Messor Aciculatus * Myrmica Rubra * Camponotus Novaeboracensis * Camponotus Turkastanus * Pheidole Pallidula

Cork sounds good, but can harvester ants get through cork? I have filled the holes with cork. Thank you for the advice.
