I just got my first Ant Tower!

Really great concept and design! Love it!

When do we get Medium, Large, and X-Large versions?

The next version to come out will be called Ant Tower Large. We may or may not do an Xtra Large. The Ant Tower Large is 9.5 inches tall, with a diameter of 6 inches. It is a significant increase in size from the Ant Tower Small and will be able to house some pretty large colonies.

We anticipate it will be available toward the end of Q1.

That is awesome news! I look forward to it!

are there any colony size recommendations for the small tower and the new upcoming large tower?

Nothing "official" yet as we are all still experimenting with various species in Ant Towers. The Small is intended to function both as a founding chamber for newly fertilized queens as well as a formicarium & outworld for small to medium-sized colonies. The number of ants that can be housed of course depends on the physical size of the individual ants.

I would estimate that the Small will comfortably hold at least 100 of the larger carpenter ants and probably 500-600 pavement ants before additional nesting space would be needed. The foraging area would most likely need to be expanded sooner by adding an AntsCanada Outworld to the setup.

The Ant Tower Large is roughly 10x the volume as the Small.

How will the heating cable areas be incorporated? Seems like its' the only thing missing from the other set ups.
There is a small tunnel in the base through which a heating cable can be added. The hollow core gets heated and provides a heat gradient throughout the nesting area.
