Is this a male carpenter ant?

The more I look at it the more I think it is male. (Still has wings, black on the throax)
I was in my room, and went to play with my cat and saw it crawling on my jeans.
I have had ants in my room due to soda and donuts left on the floor.
I think it may be Carpenter Ants (Camponotus) due to my first google search of "Queen ant vs male ant" returning this image:

What really stands out is golden rings on the gaster, here are my images:

Thanks :)

Definitely a queen. Looks to be camponotus
Proverbs 6:6-8

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

I wonder at what rate that the queens decide to keep their wings.
I wonder if she is semi or even fully claustral.

Wow she shed over night. Could this be due to stress or is there a good chance she can start founding.

It's perfectly normal for queens to shed, I would try to get her to found since you can never no if she has mated yet.

Well, it has been almost two days and I don't see any physogastric signs. I'm still waiting on my test tubes which were supposed to arrive a couple days ago.
I could not find any information on how long I should wait before expecting births. It seems from Mikey's videos it can take up to a week before any births occur.
Any other estimates?

Wow, they really are quite small.
Well, I guess I can expect workers in about 2 months, or possibly male alates because they can be raised by a virgin queen I have read?
How does that work?
