Hey guys! I just caught two crematogastor queens today and someone said I should make a journal for them, so here it is!! I’ll give, I’m thinking, either weekly updates, or only big milestones. I’ll set a poll to see what you guys want. Whatever happens, I can not wait for two big crematogastor colonies!!

Sorry the photo isn’t great, but it’s the only one I have where they are both in it.

Wow, I've always wanted to keep Crematogaster!

Any updates?
I caught three queens here in Virginia on September 6th. I currently have all three in test tubes hibernating at 46 degrees. They've been in hibernation for almost six weeks now.
Are you hibernating your queens now?

I took my three Crematogaster queens out of hibernation in January. I used a heat cable to warm their test tubes and left them undisturbed for over five weeks. One queen has her first worker and all the rest have large larvae or pupae. The problem is that their tubes are drying out.

Hey, sorry for being so inactive. Unfortunately, one of the queens passed on. While that saddens me, there is good news too. The other queen has eggs! Her test tube was completely out of water, so I just moved her and her eggs to a new one. I’ll get photos in a couple of days, as I am on spring break away from home

Same problem. I think my queen that died died of thirst
