An Aug 2nd Maryland USA catch.
A little help Identifying, please. I was researching, was hoping for campo~ but, looks like lasius.
She started laying eggs 11 Aug, so I have been leaving her in the dark.

They still want to stay in the orange container... attempting to "force" them to a more suitable test tube.. by light.

The two queens now have nearly 20 workers... super colony able?

Lasius sp. Can we get better lighting? It makes IDing more thorough.
An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.

I will try. They are currently in an orange test tube... not much light getting in there.
Mild weather here they have picked up a second wind and she has a lot of new larva atm... So much for hybernation..
