So I tried it with another tetramorium queen and overnight I saw the new one on the ground dead. It didn’t work!

Yea... the fact is that they are programmed to compete with each other.Ltislander wrote: ↑Wed Jul 25, 2018 5:42 pmSo I tried it with another tetramorium queen and overnight I saw the new one on the ground dead. It didn’t work!
Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

I’m not gonna put 2 queens together again unless I know the species is a polygynous species

I didn't say that all Tetramorium queens won't fight.

I think that my queens have organized a sort of "ranking system". I see that one queen gets tended to the most often, and the injured queen the least. Of course, there was some dueling involved in order to establish these ranks.

I’ve never seen/read about that before! That’s interesting!AntsDakota wrote: ↑Sat Jul 28, 2018 12:13 pmI think that my queens have organized a sort of "ranking system". The queens are all still alive and laying eggs.

They're still not fighting and have a sea of eggs and small larvae.

I think it's just a myth. I and my friend have been keeping duel Tetramorium queen colonies for months now and so signs of aggression have been shown. I think it just depends on the queen..
