Lasius Alienus or Lasius Niger

Hello,

There was a nuptial flight today and I was able to catch quite a few queens :)

From looking through pictures, I'm thinking its from the Lasius genus. Any tips on differentiating the species would be much appreciated.

Is it possible to keep 2 or more queens together for this species?

Thanks!

After looking at a few more of them, I'm starting to think they might by Formica instead :?: :?:

I always have a hard time with Lasius and formica. This one looks like a Fromica Fusca queen.

Lasius americanus, which until recently was thought to be Lasius alienus.
