What time of day is best for finding queen harvester ants? Not the year because I've seen alates coming out of the colony.

Harvester ants that is.

Here in Utah, the nuptial flights have usually occurred around noon. I have had the best luck spotting them mated and without wings a few hours after that, so like 3pm - 7pm.

Southeastern New Mexico, I have spotted lots of them mornings after its warmed just a bit, and afternoons after its cooled a bit. As of yet I haven't noticed a particular time they fly here but I'll pay more attention this year.
Learn to dance in the rain, because after there are queens to find!
