Found this queen when I cracked open a acorn. Sorry for the poor photos it's hard to photograph a black ant (I need a better camera). found in central Arkansas

Ya not sure how long she could have stayed in there it was a tiny pin oak acorn she couldn't even stretch out straight.
Also think I just found another queen of the same type this morning

Crematogaster lineolata
or Crematogaster cerasi

Both and only those 2 species live in South Dakota. What a coincidence.
