I haven't seen anymore ants like this around, she has some eggs but that is about all. I just got her up from hibernation, her tube was completely dry, trying to get her to move to new tube now.

Any input would be appreciated.

I have one like her. Some sort of myrmica i believe. They are semi-claustral!! Feed her!!

Pogonimyrmex Occidentalis would be my guess. It looks really similar to the one I have.

It really does look like Pogonimyrmex Occidentalis, but I live in the foot hills of western WA and it is not anything like a desert, though the distribution map I looked at also said they can live over here to.
I would really like it to be harvester ant

I am going to try for a good picture from the side. It seems to me if I can see if she has that little spike, it should determine whether she is a Pogonimyrmex Occidentalis or a myrmica.
If anyone knows of another major determining factor please yell it out.

She does seem to be a to small to be a Pogonimyrmex though. I will measure her again tonight to make sure I got an accurate number.

Wow, that first picture looks like she has that little spike behind her abdomen.
