So you are 100 percent sure my black ant ain't a queen? If so I'll release it tomorrow

I'm sure, if it was the thorax would have wing scars and would be much larger.

I think you found yourself a ponera queen. They are semi claustral, so feed her. I am almost 100 percent sure it's a queen, but others should probably confirm this.

Sorry, the second ant is a Pseudomyrmex gracilis worker.
