Unknown Queens
I caught three queen ants last night evening August 11 2017 on my driveway. I live in eastern north carolina US. Can you please identify the species of ant this is.
Re: Unknown Queens
Can you tell us the size? By the looks of it it's camponotus sp. Or formica sp.
Check out my blog: bayareaants.blogspot.com
Keeper of:
Camponotus Modoc(6 workers)
Pheidole Spp (2 queens, about 10 workers)
Possibly parasitic Formica (further ID required)
Novomessor Cockerelli (10+ workers)

Re: Unknown Queens
Pheidole sp. They are generally too difficult to identify to the species through normal photography.
If you enjoy my expertise and identifications, please do not put wild populations at risk of disease by releasing pet colonies. We are responsible to give our pets the best care we can manage for the rest of their lives.
