Re: To many Queens?
If this is your first colony, I would just start with one colony.... Choose your favorite ant queen, and release the others...

I disagree wholeheartedly. If you do not think you can handle seven colonies of Formica, then I recommend finding somebody willing to take them. Never release ants back into the wild.

Re: Inquiry
Ye, but I dont mean release them when they have no workers. Plus I mean releasing them as is burrying the tube outside and taking the lid of so that she can go out if she wants, maybie covering it with some leafes.... I will never just pour them out...

She has adjusted to her temperature in your house inside of a test tube, if you bury her in the test tube, overnight the temperature drop will most likely kill her or make her ill.
Re: To many Queens?
Scientists encourage not releasing ants back to the wild. Not only do they have lessened chances of survival, but they stand chances of introducing pathogens.

What do you mean with "but they stand chances of introducing pathogens." Do you mean introducing paracites, fungus or a disease?!?!? Man I catch my and queens in my own backyard.... in the forest in sweden... plus, now in the summer, temps dont drop that much...
