I'm not sure particularly but I would say near desert trails. You could take a small hike along any trail and look for clastural chambers also.

From my knowledge Acromyrmex Versicolor need to forage for leaves, food and plant matter. This should make your chances of finding a queen substantionally higher.

All of my records for this species in AZ come from Tucson and Tumacacori. Two flights in July, with the majority occurring in the fall, August to October.
