If you enjoy my expertise and identifications, please do not put wild populations at risk of disease by releasing pet colonies. We are responsible to give our pets the best care we can manage for the rest of their lives.

A blunt petiolar scale is what differentiates Lasius latipes from Lasius claviger. Lasius latipes has alpha and beta form queens, with the alpha form having the robust legs.

Pictures of the profile of the petiole are important, in this case.

Hopefully those will get us a clear understanding. If not, i am currently fine with knowing she is a Lasius Social parasite that is either Latipes or Claviger.

Aha! Thank you! :D

This is Lasius claviger, for its sharp petiole.
