First post; need I.D., please.
Hello!
Brand new to this forum. I need help with this "ant"; I am unsure if it is a queen or an impersonator of an ant.
It's extremely small... Probably the length of a small pea and as thin as a toothpick. Here are the pictures.... I hope this helps!

After observing it for the last 30 minutes... I don't think this is even an ant, actually. I think it's one of those species that looks very similar to one, but isn't. If that makes sense. Its eyes look nothing like an ant's eyes and nor do its antennas looks like an ant's antennas. Oh, and its abdomen has like 5 segments vs 3-4. :\

Hm. Try to get a second opinion before you release her.jonnieboi05 wrote:After observing it for the last 30 minutes... I don't think this is even an ant, actually. Looks like a bee of some sort.
If you enjoy my expertise and identifications, please do not put wild populations at risk of disease by releasing pet colonies. We are responsible to give our pets the best care we can manage for the rest of their lives.

So, it's concluded that this is not an ant?

Not an ant. Possibly a bee of sorts.
