Night hunting
Do you guys recommend searching at night for queens on hot summer nights?
Re: Night hunting
I would recommend anytime after it rains. I’ve had great luck with finding queen ants everywhere after it rains, especially early morning.

I've heard you can use a blacklight to attract queens
Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

It's a special kind of light. You can get them in flashlight form at any hardware store.
