The first genetarion of workers from my Camponotus Sericeus have finally hatched
Here we see a worker ant eating an insect while the queen with her beautiful golden gaster tending to her brood.
Hmmm... what is that on the foreground?
Whaaaa??
Male alates?!
This colony is still on its very infant state. They are still on a test tube setup. There are only 4 female workers plus 1 alate. Very unusual , colonies wouldn't usually produce winged ants untill they reach a very mature point in their lifetime.
Newly hatched nanitics... with males?!

Re: Newly hatched nanitics... with males?!
I just finish reeding the handbook from AntsCanada. It is written that a queen who had alates at the begining of the colony means that the queen haven't mate. So only male alates will eclose.
But here it's different, and strange. Maybe other experimented ant keepers have a answer to this.

Yeah, male ants usually hatch if the eggs arent fertilized with ****.
Google University said that usually if a young colony immediately starts producing male ants that it is a sign that the queen is already running low on ****. It probably means she mated with a male ant that did not have a lot of ****.
