Re: QUestion
It's confusing, but if a queen is not fertilized she can still sometimes successfully produce males.
That just made me think: does anyone know if she would be able to mate with these males?
Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.

I think BCA and other queens like that can actually mate with them and create a normal colony without any problemantperson24 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 10, 2023 10:16 amIt's confusing, but if a queen is not fertilized she can still sometimes successfully produce males.

Re: QUestion
I highly doubt they would mate. Ants typically try to avoid incest as it can cause a lot of issuesAntloverhuman wrote: ↑Sat Jun 10, 2023 10:29 amI think BCA and other queens like that can actually mate with them and create a normal colony without any problemantperson24 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 10, 2023 10:16 amIt's confusing, but if a queen is not fertilized she can still sometimes successfully produce males.
