Re: Vote for best nest
I have never used Ytong as it is hard to find in the U.S., but from what I've heard it sounds pretty good.
Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.

Re: Vote for best nest
First let me clear some things up
All nest have their moments with certain species where they suck or work really well. It really depends on what you’re containing
Overall ytong and acrylic both suck. There are a few species they work well for, but generally suck. Ytong can’t mold moisture and acrylic is really unnatural and can cause pupating issues. Digging. Ant farms are difficult to maintain but work. Tubes mold too often unless you use pvc sponges. In my mind ultracal nests are the best overall
