Outworld question

I have a C. Novaeboracensis colony with 10 workers and I am wondering when a should give them a 4x3x2 little box as an outworld because feeding them and cleanup are getting a little difficult. Should I give them the outworld or should I let them hibernate in just their test tube. Also when should I do the same for a tetramorium colony.

If you want, a water feeder in the out world wouldnt hurt to ensure hydration.

I have a new myrmecia queen in a Tupperware/testube set up. Planning on moving her to a small terrarium later, my question is how do you go about applying floun around the edge with out your hand being attacked? Or them escaping ?
