Lasius interjectus queen :)

So I found a Lasius interjectus queen today. VERY excited. She's gorgeous, and I can't wait to watch her grow a beautiful colony.

The flight schedule checks out, but it looks different from Ant wikis photo… Is it the lighting?

It's not that one. It's the other locality. She's a gorgeous queen. And a species I've been looking for since I started this journey. :)

They are very cute, to say the least. :)

Also, you found her wings? Nice find. Did you see her remove them? I have seen a termite remove theirs, as it happens quite a lot with them,

I think it only takes a few seconds, like termites, so it is rare unless you live near several spots in the US(Some people live near spots where hundreds of thousands of alates return each year)
