Thought that the species was in one of those subfamilies. Whoops! :lol: Also couldn't find any actual pics of the queen.

Subgenus, not subfamily. ;)

The Lasius parasite subgenera in North America are Chthonolasius and Acanthomyops. Eurasia has Chthonolasius, Dendrolasius, and Austrolasius.

Yup! Interestingly, they produce lots of citronellol, much like our Acanthomyops.

I would need to see the hair on the gaster for this one, but for now it's L. umbratus or L. speculiventris.
