Do ants sleep at all?
In this video you will learn why ants do not sleep all their lives.
Recently, however, this hypothesis has come under criticism. Video footage has been presented of ants in a static state. They literally froze on the road, even tilted their heads and their antennae stopped moving.
This gave rise to a new hypothesis. The hypothesis is that the ant's stopping for a few minutes is its sleep. This hypothesis also has a kind of confirmation. The ants that ran past the "resting colleague" touched him. But he did not react in any way or his reaction was inhibited. Studies on fire ants showed that ants had about 253 sleep episodes during the day. Each of them lasted about....

Re: Do ants sleep at all?
This is a quite interesting question and I do think they take at least a lot of short breaks if they are unable to find a nice calm spot in the nest.
Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.

Their sleep isn't like ours, that they would close their eyes, open them and realize its the next day and have to go to school. Their system would simply slow down(i think) and this will give their muscles time to relax
Ants I have-
camponotus compressus colony- the shadow warriors.
Pls just let me have a tetramorium colony

I do believe I can sometimes see ants do this, But usually inside the nest. My Odontomachus queen lives like this with one worker lol.Antloverhuman wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 7:14 amTheir sleep isn't like ours, that they would close their eyes, open them and realize its the next day and have to go to school. Well why not. Also let's stop it here with the off topic. Otherwise I will have to split it. xD
