Can ants adopt a workers?
Is it possible with highly polygenous ant species? Like a black crazy ant gets lost and is not able to find its way back home, it accidentally comes across a different black crazy ant colony. Will they adopt it?
Ants I have-
camponotus compressus colony- the shadow warriors.
Pls just let me have a tetramorium colony

Re: Can ants adopt a workers?
Its posible, if the lost ant had food then most likelly yes.
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony
[Have a look at antmaps.org]

bees do it only if the other unrelated bee has food so... perhaps fill its social stomach if you want to do itAntloverhuman wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 10:48 amIs it possible with highly polygenous ant species? if that is what happens with brood, why not with polygynous ant workers?SolenopsisKeeper wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 6:44 amYes, I believe soAntloverhuman wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 10:48 amIs it possible with highly polygenous ant species? Depends. Invicta is 50/50. Even if you put them both the fridge, they still kill each other.AntsAntsAnts wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 3:49 amif that is what happens with brood, why not with polygynous ant workers?SolenopsisKeeper wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 6:44 amYes, I believe soAntloverhuman wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 10:48 amIs it possible with highly polygenous ant species? Or any ant. You could have found a sub spieces of the spieces and it won’t merge.AntsAntsAnts wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 11:14 pmthere is always a risk unless it's like yellow crazy ants or some form of polyrhachisSolenopsisKeeper wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 6:45 amDepends. Re: Can ants adopt a workers?
I heard it's possible with Harpegnathos, many people start their colonies by introducing workers to queens and they won't fight even if they're from differnt colonies.
