HELP!!!

I caught a Camponotus novaeboracensis queen and put her in a test tube setup and woke up to see her in a pool of water the test tube flooded I think I made a mistake by ripping the cotton ball in half because in the tutorial for test tube setups he says to break it in half but mine we smaller I just realized, I made a new test tube without a queen to test but this time I didn't break the cotton ball in half, it's been about 3-4 hours and no leakage or anything, is it safe to put a queen inside?

Yes, it should be. Your test tube will flood is because your cotton ball is smaller than the one in the video.

If that's the case, then the ants are probably the ones causing the flood.

no it was just a queen for me the cotton ball just probably got soaked thru making it just small enough for the water to get in
