So wanted to ask a question about my lasius Niger colony who have started running around like complete lunatics but then I saw the page of topics here and gotta ask - wtf has happened in here? Have the moderators all quit??
Anyway. Lasius Niger. Running around like mad...
They're getting a dot of honey every two days, as normal. Have started feeding them crickets about 5 days ago. They've ignored the latest one so I took it out.
They normally scuttle about hunting spring tails but this is almost like they're in a state of panic.
Everything in their TT looks ok.
They've had a bit of an egg boom and I'm wandering if they're desperately trying to find more protein, but, they're ignoring the STs as well, which is odd as that's usually their favourite snack.
I'm in the UK and we're having nice sunny weather, could this be driving this new behaviour?
Any thoughts or observations welcome.

Most ants do this when they are panicking. So noting to worry about (well for you XD).
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony
[Have a look at antmaps.org]
