Hi I found a Formica queen with wings while camping. Is she fertile? I found her on top of my tent and didn't really see any others near her.

No way too tell, I have some queens with workers that just had there wings removed. If she was not near a nest she most likely flew, whether shes fertile is anyone's guess. :D Congrats!
With all the things ants can do, you wonder, who rules the planet :?

Most of the winged ones I have caught raised brood, probably 75%. Of course you will not know until workers successfully e close :).
