I must have the worst.luck ever with camponoutous ants ill tell ya I only found one queen she was doing fine nothing was wrong or so I thought I checked on her this morning and she was DEAD!!??I WAS LIKE WAIT WHAT WHAT HAPPED WHO WHAT WHEN WERE WHAT DID I DO WRONG......then later today I um looked at her majestys corps and noticed the was a pile of a worm looking thing and there butt was like flat it was upsetting we was dead but it was a relief it wasn't my fault I just wish I found more queens bc now I don't have a carpenter ant queen abd it sucks big time bc of how long they take to grow and a freakin parasite killed my camponoutous queen

That is unfortunate. I hope that you can catch more queens later. I did not have a lot of colonies, but I think that this is relatively common. Many queens do not manage to found colonies, and therefore it is recommended to catch several.

Dude what you found was amazing. If I were you I’d raise the parasites instead of the Camponotus queen. Who knows what you found and what they will grow into.
