Re: Finding Pheidole in New York
Haha ya I just saw that post. It was 90 all day yesterday and then big thunderstorms in the late afternoon until about 9. I pit on my porch lights and kept checking, went to the pool out back a few times, and walked around with my headlamp and didn't see any queens.

I noticed here in Florida they like to come out around the same time as camponades and if not the same time they come out very early morning like 3 to 5 a.m. .

I've dedicated this summer in search of Pheidole Bicarinata colony, here in Upstate New York, with hopes to find a queen during nuptial flight. Fingers Crossed.
