If anyone has any experience of keeping Pseudoneoponera tridentata please share it with me.
Recently i discovered that the Pseudoneoponera tridentata queen is scouting alone while the workers stay in the nest.I read about the colony unusual behaviour but i am not sure whether queen wandering alone is normal in the colony.
If anyone has any idea what is going on please share it with me ^_^

Apparently that's true.Antloverhuman wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2023 10:11 amThat is a name i have never heard and my first thought was "SYUTEO would probably know that species"
Psuedoneoponera is one of the more unique genera of Ponerinae ants due to the fact that many species can squirt their venom in the form of a foamy substance. Here's what it looks like: https://www.alexanderwild.com/Ants/Taxonomic-List-of-Ant-Genera/Pseudoneoponera/i-XnZRHSD/A
I have no experience with keeping this species but the same thing happens with my Odontomachus simillimus colony in their early stage, I do know that the queens will coontinue to forage even when her workers hatch and will keep foraging until the workers can do it themselves. This happens with pretty much every semi-claustral species, not just Ponerinae.
